I am Zack. I fix how small businesses come up on Google Maps, and I set up something to answer the calls they miss.
A written diagnosis of your Google listing, the fixes ready to paste in, and something to pick up the calls you miss.
Google listings01
How you come up on Google Maps.
When somebody searches for what you do, Google puts a small handful of businesses at the top with a map next to them. If you are not one of them, the people who were going to ring you ring somebody else instead.
The first thing I do is write up what is wrong with your listing — the box with your name, opening hours and reviews in it — set against whoever is showing above you. It is usually some of these:
- reviews sitting there with no reply
- no description, or one written years ago and never touched
- nothing posted, so the listing looks like the business has shut
- opening hours, phone number or address that are out of date
- categories set to something that is not quite what you do
That write-up is the first thing you get, in plain English, no charts. If you want the fixes as well, I write them out ready for you to paste straight in:
- A new description
- written for your business, not a template with your name dropped into it.
- A reply to every review that has not had one
- each one written the way you would actually say it, not the way a company would.
- Posts ready to publish
- so the listing stops looking abandoned.
- What the business above you is doing
- a plain breakdown of what they have got on their listing that you have not.
The write-up and the fixes together: two days, one payment.
Call answering02
When you cannot get to the phone.
A missed call is not usually somebody who rings back later. It is somebody who rings the next place on the list.
I can set up something that picks up the calls you do not get to — after hours, when you are under a car or with a patient, when the line is already engaged. It is a computer voice, not a person, and I would tell your customers that rather than pretend otherwise. It asks who is ringing, what they need and how to get back to them, then sends that straight through to you.
It is for the sort of business where one missed call is one lost booking. Garages, dentists, anybody working with their hands while the phone goes.
What it costs to set up and run: ask me and I will tell you straight.
Who you are dealing with.
The work is writing, mostly: reading a listing against the one above it, then writing what is wrong and what to put there instead.
Two things are live so far: the Google listing work and the phone answering. That is the whole list. If you ask me for something I cannot do, I will say so rather than find a way to bill you for it.
There are no testimonials on this page, no client names and no logos. That is not modesty, it is that I am not going to invent them. What I can do instead is tell you exactly what is wrong with your listing, in writing, and let you judge the work from that.
